green carpet
/ jill, miriam and i on the reel earth gala green carpet /last night i volunteered to at the reel earth environmental film festival's awards gala at the regent - the best part of which was the green grass carpet. our job was to hold big bird-shaped paper lanterns on the sides of the carpet and have them 'flying' around as people walked in the entrance. it was good fun and everyone seemed to enjoy the spectacle. i hope we get a pic in the paper :)
i saw a few good (and one really not so good) films at the sessions where i was an usher, my favourite was a short called landscapes at the world's ends. there was no narration, just some excellent footage of the poles. i was pretty happy to hear it won 'best new zealand cinematography'.
