a treeless christmas

this will be my very first christmas without a tree! even when i was living in a trailer in texas, i had one:

our decorations even survived the wildlife!

however, there is no way that a tree would survive our wildlife:

i did get some (hopefully) cat-proof decorations, which i will try to photograph when i finish hanging them.
